Salvio Pacheco, having held high offices in the government of  Mexican California, was granted the Rancho Monte del Diablo, of 18,000 acres, in 1834. About ten years later he moved to it and soon built the adobe house still standing in the present city of Concord, originally called by him Todos Santos, which was surveyed in 1868. The adobe is located at 2050 Adobe Street between Salvio and Central Street, and is now modernized as an office building.
