Alamo moving company
The town of Alamo, Danville, Diablo and San Ramon are located on the northern portion of Rancho San Ramon. The name Alamo was given to the town because poplar or cottonwood trees once grew abundantly in the valley and along the streams. Most of the old buildings of the place have been leveled to make way for newer structures. The Union Academy was built in 1859, with the Reverend David McClure as master; he had conducted the first services of the Presbyterian Church in the San Ramon Valley in 1857. When the building burned in 1868, it was not rebuilt. Two houses built by German-born pioneer Frederick L. Harburg stand in Diabl, both moved from original sites and privately owned.
